Somatic Yoga

Integrating gentle movements, meditation, relaxation, self-reflection and breathing for peace & well-being.

Somatic Yoga (SY) brings you into connection with your mind, body & heart through practices that gently help you into harmony, peace & ease.

SY is based on the understanding and philosophy that human beings are holistic and made up layers:

  • the physical body;
  • the energy system that is made up of the breath & physiology;
  • the mind that contains thoughts, perceptions and beliefs based on our lived experiences;
  • intuition that resides below our thoughts;
  • our essence or deeper being that is peaceful, calm & loving.

From a SY perspective, when one layer is being compromised or impacted, all other layers feel the disruption. For example, if you feel stressed, most likely it’s hard to breathe; your muscles feel tight; your mind may be spinning and you may not have connection to your feelings.

SY sessions explore how one aspect of our human experience impacts the whole system. These sessions interweave a combination of gentle movements, meditation, relaxation, self-reflection & breathing.

These sessions are especially beneficial for those who are experiencing stress or anxiety. Yoga or meditation is not a prerequisite for these private sessions.

Somatic Yoga rates are $125 per 50 minute session.

The office is located inside Bethlehem Church @ 9401 S. Oakley Ave. 2nd Floor. Appointments are available in person or via Zoom on Thursdays.
